Broccoli Boy

First Bandaid

The Wrecking Ball had a run in with a sharp heating vent. First Bandaid on July 16, 2009. She is recovering nicely. Might not even scar!

Popcicles!

Our first popcicles. Amelia figured it out right away and loved it. Until she got a little too sticky. Charlie really didn't want much to do with it. Didn't actually eat any of it. Just smeared it around and sucked on the wood stick. As you can imagine it was straight into the bath after that. But what's better than a popcicle on a 100+ degree day??

Crawling!

Charles Robe has finally caught up with his sister and is crawling. Amelia started about a month ago and has been exploring ever since. Charlie just started yesterday and life has already changed again. All of a sudden we have to keep up with two on the move. He is exploring all the same territory Amelia has already covered. I can hardly imagine what it will be like when they are walking/running everywhere!!

Pickles!

We love Grandma Davisson's pickles. Enough said.

Vacation!

We took our first big Thompson Family vacation in the first week of July. We traveled the state of Montana with our new (to us) travel trailer. The kids did great. Real troopers. They met a lot of our great old friends and family. We left Pendleton on July 9th and stayed at Trout Creek Campground just outside Superior, Montana the first night. Then it was to Bozeman for two nights. We stayed with Paul Bierman in his beautiful home with a view out every window. We spent time with old friends Travis and Amber, Aaron and Curt's Aunt Stephanie and Cousin Jesse and her family came to visit from Billings. Then to Big Sky for a night with Tyler and Jill and thier two sweet little boys. Chas showed up to, and after the kids went to bed we enjoyed some adult time old school style. Then to Holland Lake where we met up with Meg and had a fun night camping. It was there she named the kids Hamhock and Chill. Then up to Columbia Falls to finally meet Great Grandma Thompson and Great Uncles Dick and Bobby. Grandma had a great time interpreting for the kids. "Amelia just said Hello!" "Charlie just said I love you!" It was really special, and so worth all the driving. After two nights there we spent another day on the road and ended up at Hayden Lake, ID. A quite night of camping, and a stop at Cabelas in Post Falls rounded out the trip. It was a great trip. Next trip will be a whole new experience with all the new found mobility of the kids.

Nicknames

I'm afraid our little nuggets have too many nicknames. We have a habit of this anyway...just ask our poor dogs. I thought I better list them all before we forget some: Chaz and Mimi (Mommy's favorites), Cheech and Mimsy (Aunt Karen), Hamhock and Chill (Thanks Meg!), The Wrecking Ball and The Chizzle (WWF names), Mr. Sensitive and Babygirl, Hurricane Amelia and Tropical Storm Charlie (this one came at bath time...for obvious reasons) Sissy and Mr. Man (Daddy's favorites). Daddy also thinks it's funny to call Charlie "Skeeterbait". I'm not so sure about that one! I think that's about it...but I could be missing some. Oh well there's plenty to choose from here!
